This rare and attractive First Year of Issue Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Modena" ~ HN 1845, decorated in a blue and pink colourway, was designed by leading artist Leslie Harradine and was issued from 1938 to 1949. The underside with the Royal Doulton green printed backstamp of the period, together with the numeral 11, indicating that this figurine was potted in 1938, ie. the first year of issue, in green script, "Modena", HN.1845, indistinct impressed Model Number and impressed Date Code, 31038, for 03 October 1938, and in blue, the Decorator's monogram, JCB, unidentified, but recorded as working at Doulton Circa 1930.
