A fine and attractive Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Kate Hardcastle" ~ HN 1719, the heroine of Oliver Goldsmith's comedy, "She Stoops to Conquer", decorated in a pink and green colourway, designed by leading Doulton artist, Leslie Harradine , and issued from 1935 to 1949. The underside fully marked in green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp as used from 1932, this together with the numeral 9, indicating that this figurine was produced in 1936, the second year of issue, "Kate Hardcastle", Rd. No. 803643, { for 1935 }, HN 1719 in script and the Painter's Monogram EL, for Tim Leigh, recorded as working at Doulton from Circa 1930 to 1979, impressed partial Date Code 17 , and indistinct impressed Model Number.
