A fine clean First Edition copy of "Flemish and German Paintings of the 17th Century", published in 1982 as the first of a series of catalogues devoted to the collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Erudite academic text by Professor Julius S. Held, at the time regarded as one of the world's foremost authorities on Northern Baroque painting. Contains extensive entries on each of over fifty works from the museum's collection, as well as concise evaluative biographies of every artist represented. Hard covers, some 144 pages, 38 black and white illustrations plus 12 full colour plates, original dust jacket.
