About this piece

A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Plate, printed in a medium blue palette by Pettys & Co. of Leeds, Yorkshire, { 1818 - 1822 }. This pattern, formerly known as "Gazebo", depicts "Wiseton Hall", a country mansion near Clayworth in north-east Nottinghamshire, built in 1771 and demolished in 1960. The tranquil rural scene comprising the house, gazebo, and church, with cattle prominent in the foreground, is set within a floral border with passion flowers. The reverse with impressed upper case letter "H" for Hunslet Hall Pottery.
