A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Mason's Ironstone "Hydra" Jug by G.M. & C.J. Mason of Lane Delph, Staffordshire { 1813 - 29 }, the larger companion piece to our Stock Ref. AEGMIHJHS-28 also listed here. Attractively decorated in a typical "Japan" pattern, the handle formed as a serpent, the base with impressed circular Maker's mark of the period, Viz. :- PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA. { As used by the pottery 1813 - 1825 ~ Godden ~ Mark No. 2540 }.
