About this piece

Another really lovely Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Copper Coffee Pot by William Soutter & Sons of Birmingham, { c. 1760 - 1928 }, whose main business in 1802, and for some years afterwards according to Berrow's Worcester Journal, was as tea urn manufacturers. Ref. Birmingham History. This fine four pint coffee pot of cramped seam construction, bearing their early mark on the underside, together with the numeral 4, is here offered in excellent condition. Now exhibiting a little play in its oak side handle, sporting an attractive heart shaped escutcheon and flared foot, the hinge in good order, the inside tinned, and the lid with brass acorn finial, all is just as it should be. As fine an example of Soutter's work as one might hope to find. As always, we are delighted to acknowledge our debt to colleagues at The Oldcopper Website for their extensive research into these early marks.

Height ~ 29.00 cm. / 11.42 inches ~ Width to include handle ~ 34.00 cm. / 13.39 inches ~ Depth ~ 18.00 cm. / 7.09 inches ~ Year ~ Circa 1825
