About this piece
An amusing Early 20th Century Antique Toby Jug Teapot, Unmarked but possibly by Allerton's of Longton, Staffordshire, To quote Monica South, "It is debatable whether or not "Toby" items are true "Gaudy Welsh". Nevertheless, many collectors display them so as to complement their "Gaudy" pieces". cf. Gaudy Welsh ~ A Visual Reference Book, Vol. I, Page 70 ~ Ex A. & P. Todd Collection.
