A very fine Pair of Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Brass Candlesticks by J.T. & Co , the one marked on the underside of its base, both retaining their internal wire push-ejectors and brass buttons. cf. Roderick Butler ~ "A Study Collection of Marked Domestic Brass and other Base Metalware c.1600-c.1900", published in 2001. The J.T.& Co. mark is there discussed on page 88, where Butler states that although not certain, it seems probable that the mark is that of John Turner & Co of Birmingham. listed in the Birmingham 'Wrightson' directories of 1818 and 1823.
