A fine, clean copy of "Turkmen Folk Art", published in Ashabad, Turkmenistan in 1990. Hard covers, Large format { 13.00 x 9.5 inches }, this is a heavy volume, 304 pages of stunning full colour photographs, illustrating traditional Turkmen embroidery and knitting, jewellery, carpets, rugs and felts. The text is printed in what we believe to be Turkmen, a Turkic language, which is the national language of Turkmenistan. The book contains a single page Summary in English, which opens as follows "This album is the first publication  to acquaint our readers with the collection of folk art at the State Fine Arts Museum of the Turkmen SSR". Original dust jacket with some nibbles to the back edge. A beautiful and most unusual item.
