An unusually large and decorative Early 20th Century Vintage "Carnival Glass" dish. This marigold coloured irridescent moulded glass of a type first produced in the United States circa 1905 by the Fenton Glass Company of Martins Ferry, Ohio, was subsequently copied by a number of their competitors in both the U.S. and Europe. A huge commercial success through the years, it faded in popularity around 1930. This late example, decorated with a most attractive Paisley pattern, is unmarked and it's origins are thus a matter of conjecture. Perhaps a keen collector with greater knowledge than ourselves of the subject will be able to identify both the Maker and the pattern name.
