This lovely Late 20th Century English Porcelain Cake or Cheese Stand, with gilded border, bears all of the hallmarks of Reg Johnson's multi-faceted talent, not only as designer, but also as potter and painter. The sylvan scene here depicted, superbly painted with a herd of Highland Cattle at ease beside a burn, offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
