Description

A quite delightful First Year of Issue Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Pantalettes" ~ HN 1709, decorated in a red colourway, designed by leading Doulton artist, Leslie Harradine , and issued from 1935 to 1938. The underside fully marked in green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period, this accompanied by the numeral 8, indicating a production date of 1935, in green script, Pantalettes HN 1709., Potted by Doulton & Co., impressed Model Number, and in blue by the Painter's Monogram JCB, unidentified, but recorded as working at Doulton Circa 1930. N.B. :- Tiny dunting hairline to the base of this piece, these occur inside the kiln during the production process, usually after firing, and are caused by cooling too rapidly.
