Description

This rare and fine First Year of Issue Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Mariquita" ~ HN 1837, decorated in a red and purple colourway, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and was issued from 1938 to 1949. This example fully marked on the underside in green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period, together with the numeral 10, indicating that this figurine was in fact potted in 1937, in green script, "Mariquitta." { sic. }, HN. 1837., impressed Model Number 871 and impressed numeral 13, plus in brown the Painter's Monogram, GGS, unidentified, but recorded as working at Doulton Circa 1933,
