A Rare and fine complete Set of Four Late 20th Century English Studio Pottery Porcelain Figurines, "The Seasons", Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn, designed, modelled and decorated by renowned Studio Potter Reginald Johnson, { 1909 - 1993 }.
We hold what is probably the world's largest and most comprehensive collection of the work of this hugely talented designer, potter and painter who having joined Royal Doulton at the age of fourteen, became at sixteen the only student ever to receive direct tuition at the hands of Charles J. Noke, the company's famous Art Director.
This lovely set of Late 20th Century porcelain figurines, "The Seasons", bears all of the hallmarks of Johnson's multi-faceted talent, not only as designer, but also as potter and painter. Superbly modelled, beautifully decorated, and fired in his own studio, the group offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
