This charming Late 20th Century porcelain character figurine, "Embroiderer of Kashmir", inspired perhaps by his former tutor Noke's fascination with characters from the orient, and offered here in a blue colourway, bears all of the hallmarks of Reg Johnson's multi-faceted talent, not only as designer, but also as potter and painter. Superbly modelled, beautifully decorated, and fired in his own studio, this delightful piece offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. The underside fully signed in black, viz :- EMBROIDERER OF KASHMIR by Studio Potter Reg Johnson.
