This lovely Late 20th Century porcelain figurine, "Tunisian Scholar of Law", inspired perhaps by his former tutor Noke's fascination with characters from the "Arabian Nights", and offered here in a red and green colourway, bears all of the hallmarks of Reg Johnson's multi-faceted talent, not only as designer, but also as potter and painter. Superbly modelled, beautifully decorated, and fired in his own studio, this delightful piece offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
