A large and heavy Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transferware Serving Dish or Platter printed in a rich medium blue palette in the "Net" pattern. According to Volume I of Coysh & Henrywood's "Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery, 1780 - 1880", this pattern is known to have been used by at least four potters, viz. Herculaneum, Job Ridgway, Spode and possibly Charles Tittensor of Shelton. We believe that this piece, the reverse of which bears the mark, "Ironstone China" on a ribbon within a floral cartouche, was probably potted in Liverpool at the Herculaneum pottery.
