A fine and large Mid 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton Character Jug, "Falstaff", D6287, the base fully marked with the green printed Maker's Mark of the period, Falstaff, D6287, COPR 1949 and DOULTON & CO LIMITED. Shakespeare's character Sir John Falstaff here depicted was immortalised in the Bard's three comedies, Henry IV, Part 1, Henry IV, Part 2, and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
